Water supply: Chinese firm expresses interest in working with KWSB

Farid said that a memorandum of understanding would be signed by the two governments.

A delegation representing China International Water and Electric Corporation (CWE), which recently displayed their interest in the Greater Karachi Water Supply Scheme K-IV, met Managing Director Karachi Water and Sewerage Board Misbahuddin Farid here in Karachi.


The Chinese delegation lead by General Manager CWE Pakistan Yan Xinde and Senior Engineer Li Zhili briefed KWSB officers that CWE is working in education, health and dams in Pakistan, and the government of China is looking to invest in Pakistani development projects. He further explained that the water supply project is in their top most priorities.

Farid said that a memorandum of understanding would be signed by the two governments, but this meeting was meant to initiate the process and facilitate exchange of basic information.
