Heinous act: Woman accuses man of abduction, rape

Says she escaped after being held captive for several days.

DERA ISMAIL KHAN: A married woman, Shireen Bibi*, 19, has lodged an FIR against Habibullah in which she alleged the latter kidnapped her and subjected her to rape for several days, said officials at Chawd Wan Police Station on Friday.

In the FIR, Bibi stated she and her elder sister were on their way to DI Khan city when she was apprehended by Habibullah. Bibi added she was taken to Nawab village in Tank district and kept inside a house where she was repeatedly raped for several days.

After the ordeal, Bibi said she found a chance to escape and finally reached her hometown of Gara Mir Alam, a village in Daraban tehsil.

A police official said initial investigation revealed Habibullah had a relationship with both Shireen Bibi and her elder sister. He added Shireen Bibi was married to another man three months ago.

It is yet to be ascertained whether Shireen Bibi met Habibullah through her own consent or whether she was in fact kidnapped. The police have arrested the accused, who is behind bars in Chawd Wan Police Station and will be presented before a judicial magistrate today (Saturday).
