Munir Malik appointed Attorney General of Pakistan

He has replaced Irfan Qadir as the top law officer of the govt.

ISLAMABAD: Former president Supreme Court Bar Association (SCBA) Munir A Malik was appointed as the Attorney General of Pakistan, a notification said on Friday.

The notification was issued after the President of Pakistan approved the nomination made by Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif.

Malik will replace Irfan Qadir as the new AG of Pakistan.

Qadir had earlier said that he will wait for a decision from President Asif Ali Zardari, who has the appointing authority, before stepping down as the top law officer of the government.
