Sharif took his oath under Governor of Punjab Makhdoom Ahmed Mehmood.
Shahbaz and Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf’s Mian Mahmoodur Rasheed were the only two contenders for the post.
Shahbaz was nominated by his party as the province’s chief minister for the third time.
Given the PML-N’s overwhelming majority in the Punjab assembly, it was a sure bet that Shahbaz will once again be CM. This is the third time he has won this post, the first being from 1997 to 1999 and the second from 2008 to 2013.
As the younger brother of Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif, Shahbaz was thought to be an important driving force behind party affairs and in 2013, he was thought to have “taken over the party completely” according to some PML-N sources.
Moreover, party officials say that Nawaz was of the opinion that Shahbaz was one candidate who could unite not only the party but also newly elected MPAs from across the province.

If he gets started now, he can end load shedding in about 20 years. Any improvements now will be very marginal because the electric utlity system is in bad shape and needs massive repairs and also repacements and upgrades. Added to these, there is neither gas nor coal available to fire up the generators. All of this takes money and the government does not have it. Forget foreign investment because of security situation and surely expecting any thing from MIAN BROTHERS would be futile, they are good at doing one thing for sure and that is NOTHING..

By account of most comments from our desk top experts , one would imagine that people of punjab are all stupid(except the ones who voted for PTI) .They dont know where their wellfare lay. Seraiki people dont know even when they are destroyed.Come on guys ; show some respect for common peop-0le who have elected PMLN with large majority.I know English medium mummy daddy kids hold others in deep contempt but lets show at least some maturity.If you consider all people who voted for PMLn , I tell you you are wring yourself.Get a life. I am astonished how much praise was showered by the Speaker for newly elected CM. As far as I know the speaker in any elected house is meant to be imparital one.

After all your "hard work" in last term I had hoped that you will be promoted.Alas! that did not happen. Anyways, I hope that instead of spending tax payers money on show off schemes,this time you do some substantial work.I hope that u ll make sure Gojra and Badami Bagh do not happen under your good governance.I hope that you will show respect to assembly and elected members and come to assembly sometimes. Also I hope you ll stop ur reliance on baboos and not beat doctors/nurses/teachers on mall rd when thy take out rally against ur administration.I hope that u ll make sure that traffic mess caused by ur never ending adventures reduce. But then I know nothing has changed.
