Accidents: Two killed, eight injured in mishaps

Inam Gul, Hatim Bibi and Saadullah along with cab driver Noor Muhammad were injured.

KARAK: Two people were killed while eight others were injured in separate incidents in Karak district on Wednesday.

Shahid Iqbal was travelling on a motorcycle along with his friend Irfan when a speeding jeep rammed into their vehicle at Jail Chowk area. Iqbal died on the spot while his friend suffered injuries. The accused driver escaped after the accident. In another incident, Amjad Iqbal was injured when he lost control of his motorcycle. Another accident took place on Indus Highway when a passenger van collided with a motorcycle.

As a result, Abdul Satar and Sanam Bibi were injured. Meanwhile, a car and an oil tanker collided in Jata Ismail area of Bandha Daud Shah tehsil, killing a woman identified as Khyal Miwa. Inam Gul, Hatim Bibi and Saadullah along with cab driver Noor Muhammad were injured as a result. Separately, police recovered 4,868 kilogrammes of explosive material, six improvised explosive devices and 50-metre-long detonator wires among other ammunition from a truck in the limits of Bandha Daud Shah tehsil. Afzal Khan and Mehran Shah were arrested.
