A disgruntled leader of Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) Fauzia Kasuri is in talks with the Pakistan Muslim League Nawaz (PML-N) as to how and when she should join the party, The Express Tribune has learnt.
Kasuri, No 4 on PTI’s list of women candidates for reserved seats in the National Assembly, could not get a place in the lower house. PTI had bagged a total of five reserved seats in the house: three from KP and two from Punjab. From Punjab, Dr Shireen Mazari and Munazza Hassan were nominated.
According to PML-N’s sources, Kasuri has been approached by Begum Kalsom Nawaz who wants some active individual to mobilise PML-N’s women’s wing.

Sources said Maryam Nawaz, currently in Murree, would meet with Kasuri after the oath-taking ceremony. PML-N’s officials said the party has some important position for Kasuri in the women’s wing and she could later be accommodated either in the Senate or the National Assembly.
Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz women’s wing chief organiser Nuzhat Sadiq said that Kasuri commands respect among PML-N’s senior ladies as she worked hard with them to restore the judiciary.
