Sharmila Farooqui: Zardari helped ‘civilian transition’

Free, fair and transparent general election was the result of democratic policies of President Zardari, she says.

KARACHI: Member Sindh Assembly Sharmila Farooqui has said that the credit for smooth and peaceful transfer of power from one democratic government to the other goes to President Asif Ali Zardari.

She said this in a statement issued here on Monday maintaining that the conduct of free, fair and transparent general election was the result of the democratic policies of President Asif Ali Zardari and the people of Sindh had given a heavy mandate to Pakistan Peoples Party (PPP) which should be respected by everyone.
