“Any employee showing laxity in achieving our set targets will be transferred and will face disciplinary action,” CEO Swati said in a high-level meeting of Tesco officers held at Wapda House on Monday.
Swati further told the meetings officials’ performance in the recovery process during June would be examined when taking action against inefficient staff.
The CEO instructed the executive engineer (XEN) of operations in the city to recover at least Rs70 million every month from government departments and commercial consumers. Furthermore, XEN operations in Hangu, Tank and Bannu were instructed to recover double the amount of their offices’ expenditure.
Swati also reviewed the individual performance of each division and subdivision falling under Tesco and directed the heads to overcome any issues pertaining to recovering bills. All Tesco superintendent engineers, XEN operations and subdivisional officers attended the meeting.
The company, which provides electricity to the Federally Administered Tribal Areas (Fata), has a total of Rs878 million in arrears from 13 major government departments and officials including Cadet Collge Razmak, deputy commissioners of Frontier Regions, Garrison Engineers Army, Militia Scouts, Frontier Corps, political agent offices in Fata, education department, health department, Work and Services Department, Frontier Constabulary and the Irrigation, Power and Agriculture Department.
Tesco has issued final notices to all defaulters to clear their unpaid bills by the end of June or face a discontinuation in their supply of electricity.
