Four people were killed and five injured on Monday in an armed clash between the Marfani and Khoso clans in Jahanabad, Shikarpur.
Trouble started brewing when armed men entered Fakharuddin village in Jacobabad on Sunday night, barged into the cattle pen of Zafar Khoso and stole four buffaloes. Next morning, scores of armed Khoso clansmen along with the police started following the footprints of the thieves.
The hunt led them to Jahanabad, within the jurisdiction of the Humayun police station in Shikarpur. When the villagers saw the police and armed men, they shot at them and an exchange of fire ensued. As a result Sarang Marfani, Ali Ahmed Khoso, Gulbahar Khoso and Khursheed Khoso died at the spot while five others were injured. The bodies and injured were taken to Civil Hospital, Jacobabad, but no case was registered.
