She landed at Benazir Bhutto International Airport, where she was given a rousing reception by supporters.
The 22-year-old, from the small town of Shimshal in the Hunza valley, scaled the 8,848 metre peak early on May 19 after a gruelling expedition in rough weather.
She was accompanied by her brother Mirza Ali, who became the third and youngest Pakistani male to scale the mountain.
The Alpine Club of Pakistan (ACP) announced on May 22 that it will recommend Samina’s name for the pride of performance and Tamgha-e-Imtiaz awards.
ACP secretary Abu Zafar Sadiq said it was a great honour not only for ACP but for the whole nation and for that, he will recommend Samina’s name for the two national awards.
“On her return here, ACP will be honouring her with a lavish reception,” he said adding that ACP will be sponsoring Samina for her future mountaineering commitments.

As a visiting Pakistani now living in London, I felt so very proud on Samina's great achievement. The news was received very enthusiastically by the prople in the UK and it was well publicized. Mirza Ali did not climb Everest. Even the Alpine Club of Pakistan has issued a statement in this regard. Why make him the youngest Everest climber from Pakistan when his sister is the one clearly?
