KARACHI: Sindh Chief Minister Qaim Ali Shah congratulated the candidates of Pakistan Peoples Party for winning the re-polls in Tharparkar and Jacobabad, calling it a victory for the people of Sindh. The people who felt that they would be the unopposed victors in Tharparkar have been defeated and the victory of PPP leaders proves people’s faith in the party’s policies, said the chief minister. According to the unofficial results on Saturday, PPP’s Muhammad Shah Jeelani has defeated Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf’s Shah Mehmood Qureshi by 1,232 votes. “We will live up to people’s expectations by forming an exemplary government in Sindh and by developing Tharparkar,” he said, urging all elected representatives to work for the betterment of the people and their areas.
