KARACHI: Jam Sadiq Ali Bridge is in shambles and could cause a major accident if it is not repaired on time, said Karachi commissioner Shoaib Ahmed Siddiqui in a letter sent to Karachi Metropolitan Corporation (KMC) administrator Hashim Raza Zaidi.

The bridge connects Korangi Industrial Area and other Landhi-Korangi neighbourhoods with the rest of the city. Siddiqui insisted that the repairs should be carried out immediately so that any loss of property and lives could be prevented.

He asked the metropolitan corporation to take immediate notice of the deteriorating condition of the bridge and order the services director-general to coordinate with the deputy commissioner for Karachi East so that problems and troubles being faced by traders and other citizens could be resolved quickly.
