K-P chief minister, speaker vacate National Assembly seats

PESHAWAR: Pervaiz Khattak, who took oath as the chief minister of Khyber-Pakhtunkhwa on Friday, vacated his national assembly seat on Saturday.

Khattak had won the NA-5 seat in Nowshera in addition to his provincial assembly seat.

The chief minister was followed by the K-P assembly speaker Asad Qaiser, who gave up his NA-13 Swabi seat. By-elections will be held on the vacated seats per a schedule announced by the Election Commission of Pakistan.

Meanwhile, the Jamiat Ulema Islam-Fazal chief Maulana Fazlur Rehman yet to decided which of his three national assembly seats will he retain. Rehman had won from constituencies including Tank, DI Khan and Lakki Marwat.

The JUI-F chief skipped the oath taking session of the Naitonal Assembly.

Meanwhile, former K-P chief minister Ameer Haider Khan Hoti surrendered his PK-23 Mardan seat.

@confused: Here, he is empowered by a vision that is different from PPP, QWP and ANP, so you are being negative and at the wrong end of the term. Criticise him in 5 years time.
