Azad Jammu and Kashmir and Indian-held Kashmir traded goods worth Rs6.7 million on Friday at the Taitrinote Chakkan-da-Bagh point on the Line of Control on the historic Rawalakot-Poonch route, officials say.
From AJK, traders sent four trucks carrying almonds and dry dates worth Rs3.47 million to Poonch in held Kashmir. On the other hand, 10 trucks loaded with fruits and lemons worth Rs3.25 million came to AJK from the Indian side.
Gates were opened twice for trade between the two sides, first from 12.30 to 1pm and then from 3.30 to 4pm. Two officers each from both sides were deputed to facilitate the trade.
