PTI officials said Imran was advised by doctors to not attend the NA session as the journey could prove to be detrimental to his health.
"Yes, Imran will not attend the NA session tomorrow," a senior official said.
PTI secretary information Shireen Mazari also confirmed the party chief's absence from the inaugural session.
The NA convenes on Saturday June 1, when the newly elected members of the Parliament will take oath.
Imran was ordered to take bed-rest after he fractured a vertebrae and a rib after falling from a hoist lifting him on to a stage just days before the May 11 general elections.
Imran had won from three seats in the elections, NA-1 Peshawar, NA-56 Rawalpindi and NA-71 Mianwali. Of these seats, Imran decided to forego the NA-1 and NA-71 seats.

It is sad but the truth is IK took a nasty fall due to his own mistake and the chaos that was PTI security. If NS or Zardari or Fazal would have made the same mistake there would be cartoons and ridicule all over the media. It says a lot about the mismanagement and lack of planning or organization in the party. All humans and their votes are equal and all are mortals.
@Kashif Excuse will be over? Dude go take a similar fall break a bit of your back bone & ribs & then tell everyone how easy it is to recover from it LIKE A MAN.
@Ricky
You are on point Poor IK is history! Anyone who suffrs skull damage at this age will find it difficult to satnd upright and think straight without Novalgne or opiats.I doubt if Pakistan has experienced nuro surgeons?

@Hamza: "Many people are not proud to be Pakistanis" Then those people should grab their baggage and move to other countries. After spending some years, they'll realize this blessing.
@sensible & @QB: To my friend sensible: I am not an N-League voter, I don’t even live in Pakistan… Your election commission could not arrange that for over sea’s Pakistanis. I support logical people doesn’t matter which League or Party they belong to. Your comment that “IK gave Pakistani people hope”, well that’s exactly what I am saying… it is easily said than done… the real test starts now. I just pray the amount of faith u have put on this guy that he lives up to ur expectations… which I don’t see happening since he is being a cry baby by not attending the NA session tomorrow. To my friend QB: I am very much in my senses but I think u re not and I think u re blinded by the whole “IK the man who will bring the change to Pakistan” phenomena. Wake up man what Pakistan need is democratic stability… the situation in Pakistan is not going to change overnight doesn’t matter who is in power. What he has done for the cancer hospital is an excellent deed and no buddy is denying that… so chill man…. All I am saying is that he has no real political achievements and experience and all he has done is trash talk…. Now that his party has the government in KPK, we can truly evaluate his performance. One thing PTI supporters need to consider is to be respectful of every other party’s mandate… just like u folks every other political organizations have their followers… and u guys really do hurt there sentiments. Humble request to PTI leaders and supports “please show some maturity and stop using foul language on talk shows and social media”.
@Kashif Iqbal: Yea, you tell him brother! Come on Imran be a man like Kashif sahab has said. He obviously knows what he's talking about. You may have some accomplishments to your name, but Kashif bhai is a commenter on an English website like me. And we commenters are at the real forefront of bravery and wisdom. A fractured vertebrae and rib? Pfft! With injuries like these Kashif bhai would be swimming the English channel, while you lie there in your comfy bed saying you cant move! In fact he would be out on the streets beating up bad guys while simultaneously teaching them the intricacies of real politics in a partiamentary democracy.
@Ricky: "He is already past retirement age"... and so is NS
@Ricky: i am seeing senseless people on ET......do your business instead of thinking others family.
There are hundreds of countries with many of them having dozens of top class leaders but nobody saw this much chaos and lack of organization as in PTI and IK’s fall. The more unfortunate it is the more we need to analyze and modify our behavior. Great IK fell due to his security staff’s chaotic ways. When a person in his 60’s hurts his back, ribs and had concussions, he is never going to be normal again. IK has a family and kids he would be wise to take care of them rather than physically demanding activities till he is 100% (hoping) fine. He is already past retirement age and things are not going to get better with health.
@Haris.
Are you in your senses? This man has done so much outside the politics when he had no money, power, or resources. I think he can do a lot more if he has all these things.
You don't have to be so ungrateful. If you need a perspective then please go visit a poor cancer patient in Shaukat Khanam or the poor girl who is getting a degree from Bradford University while living in Mianwali!!!
@Haris I understand your frustration as N-league voter. Your leader already said that he can't do anything for country and can't promise to end loadshedding. At least IK gave Pak hope and he is tue leader who will never let his people down Period!
why does IK look more of a human than other politicians..?
@Kashif Iqbal: He has been a bigger man than All of his opponents combined!!
Who is Imran Khan… he is a no buddy in Pakistani Politics. All he has done as far as politics is concerned is gone on different talk shows and gave nothing but bull crap (false hope) to the innocent people of Pakistan. Everyone from his party does exactly the same thing… bash on everyone. One thing I fail to understand is why the so called youth of Pakistan going nuts about this guy… I mean he has literally done nothing. Anyhow the real test starts now… I want to ask the PTI supporters to have a close watch on their leader and his performance in KPK and if they perform as they promised then I don’t mind seeing him as the next PM of Pakistan. And Man up man “IK” go to the NA tomorrow…
Imran will be the most favorite NA member for Public and Media! Get well soon.....
@Hamza: No way man the peoples who Proud of IK instead of Pakistan those are dump peoples because without Pakistan there is no IK or any party first Proud of Pakistani then Proud for any one else.
So Before post anything like that think.
" Jann " of new elected assembly.
Please keep up the good work for Pakistan and Insallah if Nawaz Sharif (and I hope he does) does not keep his promises of being a changed character from the past and improve the Nation...Nawaz Sharif and PPP supporters will give you a chance next time...If they dont, then they will have nobody to blame but themselves...
Best wishes to get back in the swing very soon
Soon this excuse will be over.. and then you have to face real politics. We'll see your performance in parliament. Be a man and get up.
Many people are not proud to be Pakistanis But all Pakistanis are proud of Imran Khan
Get well soon sir , your are the true Leader of this Nation
