The court also announced June 4 as the date for the next hearing in the case.
The court had resumed hearings on May 11 after a five week recess of the case where former ambassador to US, Hussain Haqqani was implicated in a scandal in which he allegedly had a memo delivered through Mansoor Ijaz to top US Admiral Mike Mullen offering greater cooperation against the Pakistan military in the aftermath of the Abbottabad raid on May 2, 2011.
Haqqani denied any such involvement and resigned in protest.
During last month’s hearing, Asma Jehangir had submitted a letter that she wrote to the interior ministry with regards to her client’s security. She informed that Haqqani cannot appear before the court in person due to security concerns.
The court had given Haqqani one last chance to be present at the next hearing, which will now be on June 4.
“Hussain Haqqani must be present at the next hearing under any circumstances, otherwise legal action will be taken”, said the chief justice.

Actually there isn't. HE has not been charged with anything. Memogate commission was not a regular case. In other news, he Supreme court has dismissed the Missing PErsons case witout taking any actions against those who were responsible for the disappearances which were proved in the court of law.
This court is independent but not unbiased and hence it is unlikely that Hussain Haqqani would trust its fairness and return. If i were fair, why does it not give the same opportunity to testify from another country that it was willing to give a US born US citizen (of Pakistani descent) who is on record to have said anti-Pakistani things?
Musharraf is only one. If HH is innocent he must come to appear before the court without any fear as Gen. Musharraf did. It is another issue that he is not given his right to contest election as part of game international conspiracy against Pakistan.
@Umer........There is a case of treason & he must clear himself of all charges against him.He will be proved guilty when presents himself before the court.Why did HH run away by giving an undertaking that he would return as & when summoned?

He is innocent until proven guilty. He does not need to do or prove anything.
If HH has not committed any crime,then why is he scared of appearing before the court.CJP says,if he does not appear on June 4 his passport will be cancelled.By now he must have obtained the US passport & can also go for political asylum'Those who used him will only be too pleased to help him to any limit.
Guilty till proven innocent is what CJ has been playing for.
The attitude and the blatant bias of the judges is sickening. Mr. Sharif rightly invested his money at the right spot. Dividends will continue to pay off as one superior judge has installed an army of like minded judges for years to come. Good luck pakistan!

Why is the court wasting its precious time on a non issue. There are other more important matters pertaining to ordinary citizens which demand attention of the judges.

When is attack on SC case be heard?
Why should Haqani be present? He is not charged with any crime neither is he an official witness. First charge him then demand his presence.
