Passionate, well-trained and conversant youth can do wonders for society. This was stated by the British Council Programme Development Manager Martin Daltry during a visit to Roots International School (RIS) G-8 campus on Thursday.
He was accompanied by other members of British Council to discuss new initiatives for the youth exchange across Pakistan and the UK, said a press release issued by RIS.
The participants of the meeting also celebrated the accomplishment of the Global Linking School Partnership Programme (GSP), to raise awareness about, and to uphold and guarantee compulsory education for all children in Pakistan.
Daltry said the GSP programme was initiated with the intent to promote and explore the skills of the youth in Pakistan and UK through a cultural exchange programme, resulting in stronger creative ties between the two
countries
RIS CEO Walid Mushtaq said the programme to building long-term relationship between the Central and South Asian region and UK through increased partnership in the edification development round the globe.
He added the students have responded enthusiastically to the connecting school initiative while the UK teachers have deemed their experience “enlightening.”
“It has been an eye-opening experience to visit Pakistan,” said a British student, adding “we have learnt a lot from the students here that will add to our experience and knowledge.”
Mushtaq stated that the initiative has bolstered the tutoring expertise of the Pakistani teachers and has added a lot of knowledge and information to the teaching experiences of the UK teachers.
