He was addressing US Special Envoy for Pakistan and Afghanistan, James Dobbins.
Sharif said that his incoming government will make effective measures to improve the living standards of citizens.
All available resources will be utilised to resolve the power crisis Pakistan is facing, he continued.
Dobbins responded by saying that American businessmen will invest in Pakistan to strengthen its economy, while America will continue to play its role in strengthening democracy in the country, Radio Pakistan reported.

Nawaz Sharif has a point. He must work with his partner to stop terrorism; American drones represent terrorism! Amricans must stop their drones or close down their Embassy. This is the message in the Prime Minister elect's statement. The people will not let him complete his term if he wavers!! America is not a parliamentry democracy but Pakistan is or atleast it is trying to become one.

I see new elections in 2014, do you?
What else should he say? he is not the PM of Germany or Australia, he is the PM of a malnourished country that can't feed it's population and can't even provide electricity to masses. A country that virtually has no contribution in the creation and advancement of this modern world, and you expect him to wage a war on the US by saying he will shoot down drones? lol
Why do people here are showing overly narrow mindedness. Bullet is not the only way to counter the terrorism. From where these terrorists are getting their strenght? Poverty of people. What are their breeding grounds. Madrissas controlled by like minded Molvis, providing free accommodation, education and meaning. Thats why countering poverty is in-fact countering terrorism since until we have population with nothing to spend, eat and wear, madrissas will remain lucrative for the poor and the breading factories would continue to produce more Talibans.
Nawaz Sharif and his cohorts in the Judiciary have stolen the election. Every party is accusing them and now they will steal the clothes off our backs. The SRO man has become an NRO man like Zardari.
A very mature statement.
@Syed A. Mateen, We neither have the will nor the capability to eliminate jihadis. US paid us handsomely to develop the capability but were unable to change our will. They need to develop a software to re-program our brain.
When did America even strengthen democracy in Pakistan or anywhere else in the Muslim world for that matter? Look at the Middle East. All America does for us is it sets up puppets in government so our countries are America's slave.
And its look like Nawaz Sharif is the new American puppet, slightly updated version.
Pakistan Zindabad...
yes as agreed before election
Problem with us all is that we are reflexively anti-American. But we need to use reason. There is no harm in working with U.S. to fight a common problem. If Pakistan ceased to cooperate, it would be like cutting off one's nose to spite the face. U.S. may find other means to achieve its national interests, but Pakistan will lose international support and legitimacy.
If US wants to win the hearts and minds of people of Pakistan, US must completely halt its drone attacks on Pakistan and instead assist Government of Pakistan to eliminate the terrorism from the country.
On 7th march mian sahib said if voted to power he will not tolerate drone attacks. I hope he said the same to the americans....but somehow I doubt it.
Mr nawaz is same changing his statsments.no hope with new government.
He is same changing his statsments.no hope with new government.
"America will keep playing its role to strengthen democracy in (Pakistan)" .. sums up election 2013 :)
Didn't expect to hear the same old crap from him
Tune has been changed....!!!
He sounds same as zardari! don't see any good in near future.
Hah. If I am not wrong, this means a U-turn on his anti drone stance. I hope I am proven wrong
