The two met to discuss matters of mutual interest, particularly the security situation in Afghanistan. The need to maintain coordination between Nato and Pakistan Army was also discussed.
Gen. Knud was briefed on how Pakistan has heavily contributed to the war on terrorism and how countless sacrifices have been rendered by the nation to counter extremism.
Bringing his visit to a close, Gen. Knud attended a wreath laying ceremony at Shuhada Monument. A guard of honour was presented to him by a Pakistan Army contingent, ISPR reported.

@Sterry i am very well informed about what i am saying and writing. You have to come out from your closed box mentality. Sacrifices by the military? are you serious? if they die, sorry to say, but they are paid for that!! That is their JOB- they have known this danger before enrolling. Even after death, there is pension fund, plot and kids education- all on my tax rupees. Please! Don't start and stop the train from Musharraf.. start it from Ayub Khan! who landed you in American lap for the first time. Then came the yahya khan, who gifted you the birth of Bangladesh, Along came the savior of Muslims General Zia Ul Haq.. who gifted many things apart from KK-heroine-mujahid culture into the constitution like article 62-63, Hudood ordinance, blasphemy law..etc etc..Lastly we had Musharraf.
I do not understand, just tell me 1 good reason why any external forces wants to wipe your nation out? It is the dogma that this same army has created. God forbids.. that every other nation on earth wants a piece of Pakistan for salvation. are you nuts? Bombs are made within Pakistan, using fertilizer form a company that is run by pk army called Fauji Fertilizer. They know every inch of terrorist move. But they do not stop them.
I challenge you or anybody..to carry 1 just 1 ..ill-legal arm like TT pistol, and travel from Karachi To Lahore..or hold on..just travel to Hyderabad. Dammit you cannot dare that!!!
If i wrong, then the other side of the premise is true,,,,that is..they are very incompetent in their duties!!! 45,000 civilians..so many children..died!!!! Died...
@Sterry Dear friend,I belong from a small town of North India, in 2001 while returning from my school i saw 2 police constables of Bike patrol group were arresting a colonel rank military officer for misbehaving with some shopkeepers (he parked his Car in wrong position), Close your eyes for a moment, think & tell me whether is it possible for a Constable to grab a hand of Military Colonel in your small town? If the answer is no then My Friend,you will never know the True meaning of Freedom.

Yadgar-e-Shuhada - I recently noticed this development, what is this by the way, can anybody educate me, may be soon we will have anonymous soldier's grave too.
@Karachiwala: You have no idea of the sacrifices made by the military which allow ordinary Pakistanis to sleep confortably at night. Yes some Generals and some dictators such as Musharraf may have destablized Pakistan but no one doubts the patriotism or resolve of the Pakistani military. It is the Pakistani military who have largely defeated the anti state criminals who are are foreign funded- they never attack the Pak military head on but only attack police, children and women like the cowards they are. You should know better than to write against the military which is fighting terrorists and criminals on the payroll of the state's enemies. Even impartial westernobservers salute the efforts of the Pak military.
so hence proved..that pak army is mercenary fighters for the uncle sam. The Pakistan army, who are tax exempt, electric loadshedding exempt, lives in barcaded area of cantonment, wine and dine like westners, play Polo and golf, eats up 70% of Pakistan budget, no law of civil courts of Pakistan can regulate them... is working to appease americans.... how come you can call it Pakistan army>?
They know exactly who is bringing bombs in pakistan, who is making them, distributuing them, and using them....and all is happening under there wishful orders.
if i am wrong... then this army is useless to defend the population.
People of Pakistan will never forget the services of all Shuhadas who laid down their lives in the line of duty.
