Kashmir Highway expansion: CDA asks contractors to speed up work

The construction work on the new Islamabad Airport will also be completed next year.

ISLAMABAD: The Capital Development Authority (CDA) has directed contractors of the Kashmir Highway project to speed up the expansion and construction work. A CDA spokesperson on Monday said that the expansion work of the Kashmir Highway will be completed by December this year. He said that the highway would be widened to five-lanes on both sides from the existing two lanes. The project at a cost of Rs 4.8 billion was started in February 2012, he said. The construction work on the new Islamabad Airport will also be completed next year and that will increase the traffic on this road, he added.
