SHABQADAR:

Nine suspects were arrested, and a large cache of arms and ammunition was recovered in a search operation launched to root out suspected militants and wanted criminals on Monday.

DSP Shabqadar Khan Akbar Khan told journalists he had received complaints about the presence of suspected militants and proclaimed offenders. Acting on intelligence tip-offs, he directed the Shabqadar, Sro Kallay, Khwaja Was and Battagram police to raid suspected hideouts.

Following these orders, the police launched a pre-dawn raid on houses in 25 villages and arrested nine suspects, including those wanted in multiple cases of murder, robbery, extortion, and abduction. Arms and ammunition including four AK-47s, five assault rifles, five pistols, and hundreds of bullets were recovered in the raid.

The suspects were shifted to police stations for interrogation, but cases have not been registered as yet, shared the DSP.
