LONDON: Ever since a British soldier was knifed to death last week by suspected militants claiming that it was in retaliation of the number of Muslims who are killed worldwide, fears have risen amongst British Muslims, CNN reported.

According to Humberside county police, two men were arrested in England's east coast after a mosque was set on fire.

A day before the fire, a demonstration was carried out in the town center by the anti-Muslim English Defence League. By Monday, hundreds of EDL supporters had marched to Prime Minister David Cameron's central London office to protest.

Infuriated by the murder of Lee Rigby the British soldier, protests were called across Britain by EDL. The police only intervened when the demonstrators started throwing objects at counter-demonstrators.

Supporters of EDL were also heard asking the Muslims to leave Britain.

Fear at the mosque

Fiyaz Mughal, who operates a hotline for Muslims under attack said within 48 hours after Rigby's killing, he had received 162 reports from people claiming that they had been called names and thrown objects at.

Eight mosques were attacked across the country, he added.

@Vivek: I like the heading Vivek.......Muslims are afraid. What about white Christians. Not sure if anyone is aware but there were 2 attacks on 2 young white Brits while at a barbershop. They were seriously wounded by a gang of Muslims with knifes.

Lancashire Telegraph (h/t Maria J) Detectives investigating the incident said the gang attacked the pair before forcing them into the street. The thugs also attacked a parked car during the incident at midnight on Saturday. Police said they were alerted to the incident after witnesses called an ambulance.

Extra police patrols have been launched in the area to try reassure residents. Police said they were looking for a gang of Asian Muslim men in connection with the attack.

The victims both suffered deep wounds and had to be taken to hospital by paramedics. One of the men, a 23-year-old man from Accrington sustained a serious head injury while, the other a 24-year-old man also from Accrington suffered a serious cut to his arm, police said.

Both men are being treated at the Royal Blackburn Hospital and their condition was yesterday described as ‘serious but not life threatening’. Detectives investigating the incident are now urging anyone who witnessed

Why should the Muslims have fear? It is not the MUSLIMS who killed the soldier.
