Razed: Suspected militants blow up electricity pylon

Four bombs were planted in the structure of the tower.

An electricity pylon was destroyed when multiple bombs planted by unidentified militants in Bikyana area of Swabi district exploded on Sunday.


Police official Jawad Khan said he was informed at around midnight by the policemen patrolling the area that militants had destroyed the transmission tower near Jagnath Pul on the outskirts of Yar Hussain.

The police rushed to the site soon after.

According to the official, four bombs were planted in the structure of the tower, which supplies electricity from Tarbela Dam to Sheikh Muhammadi Grid Station.

A search operation was launched by the police following the incident, but no arrests had been made till the filing of this report.

A case has been registered against unidentified militants.
