Marvi had lost her seat from Sindh during the general elections on May 11, 2013. The PML-N's Aisha Javed and Saba Sadiq were also nominated for the reserved seats.
The three nominated MNAs had left Pakistan Muslim League-Quaid (PML-Q) in favour of PML-N earlier.
Prime minister-elect Nawaz Sharif had welcomed Marvi after offering PML-Q leaders membership to his party if they apologised to the nation for supporting a dictator.
On Marvi's joining PML-N, Nawaz had said “Marvi’s approach towards issues is pragmatic. She will prove to be an asset for the party."
The PML-N has reached a simple majority with 144 seats in the National Assembly after a number of independents joined the party.
This number is expected to rise with the inclusion of women and minorities reserved seats.

Marvi Memon resigns from NA and membership of PML-Q! Marvi Memon resigns from NA, PML-Q
Updated at: 1442 PST, Wednesday, June 22, 2011 ISLAMABAD: Marvi Memon has resigned from her seat in the National Assembly and from the PML-Q, Geo News reported. Speaking to the media, Memon said that she took the decision in protest of the PML-Q joining the government and in opposition of the budget which was against the aspirations of the people.
She added that current government was working against the people of Pakistan and the PML-Q leaders did not live up to the voters by leaving the opposition and joining the government.
“The PML-Q did not correct the disastrous course of the government” she said. The statement read out by Marvi Memon listed the government as being inadequate, not serving the people, not responding to natural disasters, not protecting the country’s sovereignty and depriving people of basic human rights. Memon added that under these circumstances she could no longer be a member of the National Assembly and that she would not take back her resignations under any circumstance. She however did say that her struggle for justice would continue on the streets and in courts.

Mavi Memon is very hard working. I saw her in sit-in (Dharna) for the effected people of Gilgit Balistan when there was blockage to the river. She sat there fwith common people for many days.
if she did it for Gilgit Baltistan people, then she deserves seat from any where in Pakistan.
Any how just checked Election commission notification and she has been nominated from the Sind quota not Punjab quota.
The recommendation by Nawaz Sharif is as below
List of the Women Reserved Seat for National Assembly (Allocated to Province of Sindh)
1. Marvi Memon 2. Rahila Magsi 3. Zahida Bhand 4. Zeenat Sheikh 5. Dr. Shaheen Saeed Arain 6. Hassan Bano Bhutto 7. Faryal Rubab Hashmi
(Signed by) Muhammad Nawaz Sharif President Pakistan Muslim Leage (N) Dated 30/5/13
@Word Life: It does not matter from where you belong, these all are oppotunist!!! Your own CJP belongs to Punjab but has domicile of Baloachistan and get into judiaciary on the quota of Baloachistan!!!
Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz (PML-N) on Sunday decided to nominate Marvi Memon as a member of the National Assembly from Punjab’s reserved seats for women
Why from Punjab? Does she belong to Punjab? or from Sindh?
Marvi Memon = Oppertunist.
@Billoo Bhaya at least who loss general election
This is ridiculous. Our political system is garbage. Someone who is kicked out in election will enter the National Assembly and will make decision of this declining nation.
You got what you were aiming for. Well done Marvi :)
she fought bravely .we should give her credit as a woman fighting from thatta .her hard work will not go in vain
Mr. writer of the story or the editor, the word when a party gains more than the minimum number of seats in parliament is "absolute majority" and not 'simple majority.'
Please correct for the future. It is the job of a the media to educate also.
I give a shut up call to all the negative comments. She is a highly qualified, dedicated & doer. She is a national asset & should be in the NA & must be a minister for a ministry which could deliver to the masses.
W E L C O M E MARVI. Do Good to Shut the abusers Mouth.
God is with you.
All reserved seats should be washed out,if aimed it to promotion clean democracy.in pakistan. Senators should also come by General public votes.
If Marvi has any moral integrity, which I doubt, then she shall not accept to be elected to the parliament through reserved seat after loosing in the elections. However if she is really keen to be an MNA then she shall better get elected through a by-election. Taking a back door path to Parliament would make her even more smaller.
Good, She Should be Given Foriegn Ministry
People of her constituency reject her. Any how enjoy!!!
Marvi Memon is proving to be PMLN ke Sherni.... She ran an excellent door-to-door campaign in Thatta during recent elections. She should be given PMLN ticket to contest the by election in NA-48 Islamabad. -
Whoever rejected by masses in own constituency should not be selected through reserve seats. This shall be joke with the people.
Face Value matter! Sigh..
Good decision of PML N. Marvi deserved that. She is hard working and faithful Pakistani.
Good news, She left NA when almost 2 years left in NA term, She deserved nomination on MNA seat. She is hard working lady. Abdul jabbar USA
Marvi is a very matured politician and she had taken timely decision to switch over from the old political party and joined PML(N).
Being one of her Facebook friend's, I wish all the best to Marvi Memon in her future endeavors.
Tomorrow when Ayla Malik will be given reserved seat for women from PTI platform a lot of trolls would be very happy :P
Some people are lifelong "nominated" and never elected by their own people. It is God who gives honor or dishonor to mortals. Some start with dictators and remain unelected.
Fair & Lovely cream!
Mark my words. And she will be given Kashmir-cum-Gilgit Baltistan portfolio.
Welcome Marvi Memon ,
Could you please raise the issue of changing parties and do some changes in the constitution
1Corrupt , defaulters , loan waivers and Tax cheaters , gangsters must be stopped from contesting Election
2 If elected members wants to change party , He has to go through Election process from same constituency and pay Election Commission the expenses
3 . Should not allow an Independent Candidate for contesting Election to avoid horse trading and black mailing by Independent Candidates , a burden on Tax Payers
Hope we will be able form an Ethic Commission ( Like in Canada , where $ 90,000 wrongly claimed by a Senator is causing a severe blow to Pm Harper ) responsible to take firm decision on misuse on tax Payers money
Lets hope for the best and pray a polite culture in place
Shows the liberalism of PML N, to add colour to the Parliament'
Ow Darling! What a shame it must be. Reserved seat for a veteran politician?
Could you stop with the prime minister elect thing...it doesn't apply here...
@Aysha: Dis she has any??
She was an asset for Musharraf, she will prove to be an asset for PML-N, and then will become a PTI asset after 5 years. Some people excel the art of changing loyalties, and enjoy the best of all worlds. There's nothing wrong about that. I'm just puzzled by the intellect of the "leaders" who accept them, as I don't see any real value of rewarding her, instead of old PML-N loyalists.
Is this the final act of the NRO play?
Mockery of people's mandate. Those who lose at the polls should be ineligible for reserved seats or senate positions till next general elections.
If somehow she joined PTI, all of the sudden she will praised to extent that you will never expect...! Hypocrite trolls!!
Marvin memon the opportunist People like Marvin memon is what is wrong with Pakistani politics.these opportunistic politicians have decimated ideological politics in Pakistan and are detrimental for Pakistan I was so glad when she lost from sindh but she somehow made her way back to National Assembly
great decision marvi has worked a lot for the party
She is an asset of the party and she should be there in the Parliament.
people rejected her - FACE IT!!!
@Sonya:
its NA seat hard to resist :)
How nice :)
Shamelessness is limitless.
I doubt there is something behind the curtain..;)
Is the offer also valid for Chaudhrys?
By the way, welcome to the National Assembly Marvi. Plz forget that you twice failed to win a seat on PML-N ticket in your own constituency.
Hope she refuses the offer instantly. Marvi, to my mind, is not an N material.
face palm
We heard that she was so gifted that people will elect her. But when not, by hook or crook they get into NA. There should be no reserved seats.
Happy for her....she deserves a MNA seat. At least until the time she decides to move parties again because now she has "woken up"...again.
Marvi reduced in political stature
good news for Nation
