Academic pursuits: Conference on Imam Ahmad Raza

l Shaikh Abdullah Almadani from Madina said research on Imam was also being conducted in Arab countries.

KARACHI: The 33rd annual Imam Ahmad Raza conference was held at Karachi University’s Sheikh Zayed Islamic Centre on Thursday. Muhammad Mian Soomro, former chairperson senate was the chief guest.

He discussed Imam’s influence on the Pakistan movement. He praised academics’ efforts for describing Imam’s personality at the occassion. While speaking in Arabic, Al Shaikh Abdullah Almadani from Madina said research on Imam was also being conducted in Arab countries.

KU’s vice-chancellor, Prof. Dr Muhammad Qaiser, said more than 50 PhD degrees on Imam’s personality were awarded to his university’s students. He added that several books by Imam were part of various courses at the university. Mufti Manan Raza Khan, Dr Abdul Nabi Hameedi, Sheikh Munawwar Rizvi, and other scholars spoke at the event.
