FAISALABAD: Police on Wednesday decided to set up 28 pickets in the district to be able to seal it in case of an emergency. CPO’s spokesman Ameer Nasir Javed said on Wednesday, “The police have decided to set up the pickets after the abduction of former premier’s son and the killing of DSP Muhammad Nawaz in Lalian.” He said 10 armed men would be deputed at each picket. The pickets would be manned in four shifts daily, he said. Javed said, “The Elite Force in-charge will inspect the police picket duties.” He said the staff assigned to each picket would remain in-touch with the control room through wireless and suspected people and vehicles would be thoroughly searched.
