Ambushed: Currency dealer robbed at gunpoint

The robbers managed to escape following the incident.

A currency dealer was robbed of Rs1.3 million worth of foreign currency at gunpoint in Banr area of Mingora on Wednesday.

Saifur Rahman said he was ambushed by gunmen while he was on his way to his shop. The robbers managed to escape following the incident. “As I left the house for my shop, four armed men robbed me, subjected me to physical violence and fled. I had 18,800 Riyals, 4,520 Dirhams, $2,200 and Rs514,900 in cash,” he said. A report was lodged at Banr police station.
