KARACHI: Dengue viral fever has resurfaced in the city as 16 new cases were reported over the last week, said the Dengue Surveillance Cell on Tuesday.

According to the cell’s provincial focal person, a total of 130 cases of the disease have been reported this year, of which 122 occurred in Karachi.

Sources said that poor sanitation and lack of fumigation are the major factors that contribute to the spread of the virus.

More cases are feared unless the government takes preventive measures.
