BISE examinations: Exams postponed due to tribal clashes

The members of the two tribes got into a fight on Sunday.

SUKKUR: Sukkur Board of Intermediate and Secondary Education (BISE) has postponed the examination papers for Mathematics-I and Physics-II due to tension between two groups of the Shar and Jogi clans.

A young girl, Saba Jogi, belonging to the Jogi tribe, was allegedly kidnapped by a man of the Shar clan which sparked tension between the two groups. The members of the two tribes got into a fight on Sunday. They beat each other up with wooden sticks and hatchets.

As a result, Suhail Jogi and Nisar aka Papoo sustained serious injuries. There was panic in the area after the clashes so the Sukkur BISE announced postponing the two exams until after the end of the annual examinations of HSC-I and II on May31, the controller of examinations, Mehmoodul Hassan Khokhar said.
