Encounter: Alleged bandit dies in Qila Abdullah firefight

An alleged bandit was killed and a Levies force personnel sustained injuries in a firing incident in Qila Abdullah.

According to Assistant Commissioner  Alam Firaz Muhammad Hassani, Levies personnel signalled a suspicious motorbike rider to stop at Maizai Adda of Qila Abdullah district. Instead of stopping, the accused raced ahead.

Levies personnel tried to chase him, and the alleged bandit Abdul Khaliq alias Janan was killed after an exchange of fire, Hassani said. His body was shifted to a local hospital, while a pistol and a stolen motorbike were recovered from him. A case has been registered and further investigations are under way.
