LAHORE: Several relatives of Abdul Jabbar, a Pakistani prisoner held in India, staged a protest demonstration in front of the Lahore Press Club here on Friday. Talking to the media, Khushnood Begum, the mother of Jabbar, said her son, a resident of Fatehgarh, had gone to India on a visit visa and overstayed. She said he had completed his punishment three years ago but the Indian government had not released him. Khushnood Begum said her son was beaten by other prisoners on May 9 and had sustained injuries. She demanded that the government make arrangements with India for the release of such prisoners on humanitarian grounds.  The protestors carried posters, banners and placards inscribed with slogans against Indian terrorism.
