The World Wide Fund for Nature (WWF) Pakistan and SNGPL held an environmental education activity at the School of International Studies in Science and Arts here on Thursday.
The activity was part of the WWF’s Spellathon campaign to teach school children about environmental issues by making them participate in a spelling competition. Speaking on the occasion, Jawad Ashraf, the SNGPL senior media consultant, said, “We are spreading awareness that it is also important for us to conserve natural gas [besides electricity.]”
Sania Khan, the WWF-Pakistan’s corporate relations manager, said children were agents of change. She said, “By sharing the message of energy conservation through the Spellathon, they are turning their households to efficient use of energy.”
