BAHAWALPUR:

The Young Doctors Association Bahawalpur chapter has warned of a protest if robbers, who deprived a medical officer of cash and valuables four days ago, are not arrested.

Giving the police 48 hours to make the arrests, YDA divisional president Nasir Wakeel and general secretary Dr Waseem said that crime rate was increasing in Medical Colony. They were addressing a press conference on Thursday. Four armed men had entered Dr Shahid Mehmood’s house in Medical Colony four days ago and taken away 50 grams gold jewellery and Rs150,000. Dr Wakeel and Dr Waseem said that police were informed right away, but no one had been arrested. They said Assistant Superintendent of Police Zeeshan Siddiqui had promised to arrest the robbers in 24 hours. They said the district administration and the college administration should provide security to the doctor’s residential colonies.
