On May 9, the youngest son of former prime minister, Ali Haider Gilani, was kidnapped after an attack on a Pakistan Peoples Party (PPP) gathering in Multan.
According to initial details, security forces raided multiple places on a tip-off late last night in Nowshera.
Ali Haider is still missing, however, police search to recover him is underway.
Ali Haider was contesting on the PP-200 seat against Shaukat Bosan of Pakistan Muslim League – Nawaz (PML-N).

@sars:
Two wrongs do not make a right. You are right though about hundreds of ordinary people missing and no urgency by authorities about them.
Shahbaz Taseer was released on Feb 16 and sent to Dubai quietly according to agreement with the captives. His family and media is tight lipped about it. But you can find some information on the net.
Well done by law enforcing agencies. Hope Gillani's son and rest will also be recovered soon, Insha Allah.
Dear Friends,
How can this sort of a thing happen? I do not mean to insult your nation, but a former Prime Ministers son, abducted ! who is safe, what is the ultimate goal of your nation.
If there is no rule of Law and respect for the law, (Secular Law) these things happen.
So finally it is confirmed only son of former prime minister can be recovered in this country. Who cares for the ordinary citizens of Pakistan who go missing, killed, or get robbed everyday.
@bushra, shahid and sick....
I am showing as much sensitivity as his dad " who is stopping them" Gilani. Why no clues for Shabaz Taseer and the other hundreds of persons missing from Balochistan and elsewhere??
@sars: i hope you meet the wailing mother of a kidnapped person to know how insensitive and utterly nonsense your comments were.
I doubt very much that this was a political stunt..........because for the Gilani's to evoke sympathy after 5 years of PPP mis-rule would be next to..............no, would be impossible.
@sars: Sad remark!!!
At least some other captive was recovered, even by accident. Hope they find Gilani too. And shame on those who are saying it was a political stunt. Have some heart.
Yep time to come back dude....elections are done and no sympathy votes could help
