The ambassador emphasised that the Chinese leaders and people respected Nawaz, who is viewed as an old friend.
His contribution in strengthening bilateral relations between the two countries was well-known and deeply appreciated, he said.
He also briefed Nawaz on the forthcoming visit of Chinese Prime Minister Li Keqiang to Pakistan, characterising it as another move to strengthen trust and confidence between the two states.
Expressing delight over the visit, Nawaz said he looked forward to holding wide-ranging exchanges with China.
