Bad Hygiene: Two food producers sealed

Further action will be taken after the lab reports are received.

LAHORE: The Punjab Food Authority has sealed two food producers for making substandard items, said a Food Department spokesman.

The BFC manufacturing unit in Allama Iqbal Town was sealed for preparing unhygienic and substandard food items. Food Safety Officer Fariha Anwar and assistant food safety officers also served the factor with a notice and a fine of Rs17,000. Nishtar Town Food Safety Officer Aneequr Rehman and assistant food safety officers sealed HF Foods for manufacturing substandard juice, using artificial ingredients and not installing a water filtration plant in the factory. Specimens were sent for laboratory testing.

Further action will be taken after the lab reports are received, said the Food Department spokesman.
