The decision came shortly after JI chief Syed Munawar Hasan met with PTI chief Imran Khan at the Shaukat Khanum Memorial Hospital in Lahore on Wednesday evening.
Hasan, along with JI general secretary Liaquat Baloch and other party members, discussed with Imran about the government in Khyber-Pakhtunkhwa, in addition to the protests against poll rigging in other parts of the country.
We will respect mandate of PTI in KPK and will not participate in any efforts to snatch this mandate
— Syed Munawar Hasan (RA) (@SMunawarHasan) May 15, 2013
After the meeting, Hasan told the media that as per initial negotiations, the JI will be given three ministries under one senior minister, Express News reported. The details of the portfolios which will be allotted to the JI will be announced by Imran Khan later.
According to a PTI spokesperson in Peshawar, PTI will also be giving ministries to Qaumi Watan Party (seven seats) and Awami Jamhoori Ittehad Pakistan (three seats), both of whom will be joining PTI in the K-P government.
Joint protests
The JI chief also revealed that they will be joining with PTI in their protests against poll rigging in Karachi and Hyderabad.
Elections were heavily rigged in Karachi and Hyderabad. JI and PTI will jointly protest for re-elections in these two cities
— Syed Munawar Hasan (RA) (@SMunawarHasan) May 15, 2013
JI and PTI have been protesting against rigging in Karachi since the polls in Saturday.
Ministries for JI
JI would be given the ministries of Finance, Education and Ushar and Zakat, according to JI Secretary Information Anwar Niazi.

jamat e Islami is the most hypocrite political entity in Pakistan. Karachi has lon suffered at the hand of JI.
I am afraid JI will swallow PTI agenda.
JI ♥ PTI - agree! Inayat Ullah Khan, proposed name for Provincial Minister for Education of the KPK province, is a PhD scholar. Inayat Ullah Khan in 2002 served as the provincial health minister. Inayat Ullah Khan establish the first and only Khyber Medical University, Medical College Peshawar, a separate Khyber Medical College for girls, Bannu Medical College including registration with the PM&DC of stated and Saidu Medical College Swat
@ All: Best of Luck PTI + JI. I have followed 2002 performance of JI in KPK (NWFP then). They had done remarkable work in the field of health. Though education was not granted to JI, but they initialized many Girls college and other medical colleges there. Since 2007, JI ministry in KPK; no college or heath center has been added (Sirf aik, do Bridge hi banain they). Hats off to PTI + JI. Both can make corrupt free, energetic and productive govt. in KPK. Allah Liberals aur Seculars ki Nazaro sy bachye. Aamen :)
becareful PTI from JI, see in the begining JI has succeeded in snatching important ministries from PTI and those ministries have vital role in local bodies elections.
Education ministry to JI. Please explain PTI leadership. I have always heard that JI was backed by Saudi govt. I was not voting for them.
Finance ministry to JI. Please explain PTI leadership.
Two very important ministries these.
If this news of JI ministries is true, I hope PTI will still have a lot of influence in those sectors.
The inclusion of JI is going to make the TTP mentors really happy. Nice going revolutionary party of new Pakistan.
@ibiblogs No argument might convince you but the fact that KPK isnt Pakistan and viceversa. Policies designed for Pakistan such as the Education Emergency policy cannot be mapped to KPK 1:1. The province"s first priority is peace. JI has experience running coalition govts . The policy directive for Education will come from PTI govt make no mistake about it. The JI minister will be there to implement it.
This govt is only slightly different than the MMA govt in 2002. A step closer to their mentors TTP. No wonder Taliban are not going to attack PTI.
PTI should keep interior, local government, education and health ministries and show its performnce in these areas which has a direct impact on the common person on the street. These are also in line with the major planks of their policies. Alies can be accomodated on other ministries like zakat, sports or speaker/ deputy speaker. Here is a chance for PTI to showcase its abilities and it should be very careful in making these decisions. I personally think that they should have chosen some one young and dynamic for the slot of CM instead of Pervez Khattack
Wah PTI! Wah! we already heading towards extremism and one of the most crucial provinces that needed your guidance and a real education reform to curb extremism. U handed the education ministry, AKA where all the foundations of naya pakistan are laid..gave it to JI CLap CLAP so glad I didnt vote for you.
@ibiblogs: JI's education is not madrassah orientated. All of JI's have university degrees. Syed Munawar Hasan, the leader of JI has a double masters. Possibly you are confused between JUI F and JI
Giving education and finance ministries to JI will lead to a major failure on PTI's part even before forming a government. The most highlighted part of "Naya Pakistan" was education and now PTI doesn't seems to be interested in it anymore. Is PTI's definition of development and growth also confined to "infrastructure" like that of N-League? I hope I am wrong but I strongly protest this decision.
what happened to my comment.
This quote fits very well here "If you really love a person, learn to wait. Maybe you are not meant to be together for today but meant to be in the future"
PTI shown its vision by joining JI .... more talbanization.
why is education ministry going to JI? here is the prime chance for PTI to put in their plan for the promotion of education and literacy in their respective jurisdiction.
The good looking Jamaat-I-islami has now joined hands with Jamaat I islami. Welcome to Naya Pakistan.
PTI get ready for bitter taste of reality. We had seen IK criticizing the federal govt for a huge cabinet and over spending by government but now he has do it himself. He can't form the got unless he gives two, three ministries to parties which have three four seats. Fingers crossed, a litmus test for idealism of PTI!!
PTI should keep ministry of education. That was their selling point from the beginning. If people wanted an education system under JI, they would have voted for JI. Not a good step by PTI.
Looking at SM Hasan's second tweet, why is it that only Hyderabad and Karachi (traditionally MQM strongholds) are being singled out for demands of "re-polling"? What about the rigged polling all over Pakistan? I find it almost ethnically motivated to focus only on MQM's constituency.
One of the most salient features of the PTI campaign thus far, was there dedication to education and their plans to reform its current status in the Pakistan. It was one of the few parties that actually recognized the true potential that a proper system of education can have for a country's youth. And now they have just handed over KP's Ministry for Education to the JI. To say that I am disgusted and disappointed would be a complete understatement. To say that under JI's madressah-orientated administration, KP's education system will be lucky to see any sort of improvement in quality is wishful thinking. This action of the PTI's is a complete betrayal of what it stood for and has guaranteed its admission to the club of Pakistani political parties that have made it a habit to regularly go back on their promises once elections are over.
Education ministry should remain with PTI...I protest
7 seats and 4 of those ministers... nice work JI... :-)
Its a good decision by PTI they have the mandate to form government in KPK i hope they will make KPK a role model for other provinces and bring stability in this war torn province.
@ Usman, There was no reason to project Punjab as a model province compared to others except for media propaganda. Sindh had much less load shedding and much higher growth rate compared to Punjab. But obviously numbers don't matter when everybody is just following what is being projected on media.
@lol: lol
@Shaami: Not having ones personal axe to grind and having no hidden agendas smplifies things quite a bit. I look forward to governance by PTI with some vision unlike any other government that we had for many decades.
@Hey: no alliance with those parties who were in Govt in last 5 years, check your facts again. this is not muk muka
Good Luck PTI
I thought PTI would not form any alliances or do any...what was the word..muk muka? lol
Welldone JI.
I am a PTI supporter, lot of my family members voted for PML-N just because PTI was new and have no track record of developments. This is a golden chance for PTI to shine and I am sure Insha Allah in near future KPK will be compared to other provinces just the same way as Punjab is now compared with others.
A crash course on the Politics is just about to begin for PTI folks. Now my PTI friends will try to understand that what is the difference in Idealism and Pragmatism and also there is a difference in Utopia and Real World.
