PESHAWAR: The Pakistan Tehreek Insaf (PTI) inched closer to setting up their first provincial government as they achieved consensus with the Awami Jamhuri Ittihad Pakistan (AJIP) to form a coalition government in Khyber-Pakhtunkhwa.

A late night statement of PTI provincial president Asad Qaiser on Tuesday said that “both parties achieved consensus on becoming collation partners in the upcoming K-P government.”

A formal announcement is expected to be made on Wednesday in a joint press conference.

The decision to form a coalition government was taken in a meeting in which the AJIP was represented by Shahram Tarakai.
