Post-poll violence: Situation remains tense in Nawabshah

Poll-related violence claims four lives and injures many others.

The situation in Nawabshah remained tense for the fourth consecutive day after the elections as poll-related violence has so far claimed four lives and injured many others.


Earlier, the district administration was compelled to call in the army to control the situation as clashes increased between the workers of Pakistan Peoples Party and the Muttahida Qaumi Movement.

All major markets and shops in the city remained closed on Tuesday while people faced shortage of food items.

Nawabshah police registers murder case

The Nawabshah Police registered a case for the murder of Irfan Malik and a 13-year-old who were killed in a firing incident on May 11 at Taj Colony.

The FIR No. 74/2013 has been registered against Imdad Ali, Aijaz Ali and an unidentified person.
