In second place was Abdul Razzaq, a candidate of the Jamaat-e-Islami who polled 10,723 votes in total.
PTI came up as the second largest party in Karachi after election results were announced.
In Azizabad, PTI’s Muhammad Jawed Jeelani secured 20,259 votes against Mutahida Qaumi Movement’ (MQM)’s Khalid bin Wilayat, who won with 71,318 votes.
In Lyari too, PTI candidate Subhab Ali Sahil won 26,348 votes even though the PPP has been sweeping this constituency since it was formed in 1968. PPP’s Shah Jahan Baloch – who was contesting Lyari’s seat from the jail – defeated Sahil with 84,530 votes , the latter’s position was better than Nabeel Gabool and PPP-Shaheed Bhutto leader Ghinwa Bhutto, who hardly managed 537 votes

@MQ: And a very prosperous KPK under the 'dedicated young PTI activists'..
@NMA: His Lorship will never answer such questions. Musharraf and MQM are different Pakistanis.
"PPP’s Shah Jahan Baloch – who was contesting Lyari’s seat from the jail"..... God.... Dear Chief justice and ECP, is this allowed? (or do these things only apply to Musharraf)!
Be prepared for 5 difficult and dangerous years in Sindh. However what PTI has is dedicated young activists who will rattle the status quo. What they need is leadership at the local/provincial level.
@KP: here I would agree but time had to be optimized, cold as that may sound. In retrospect however what you are saying is correct.
This one seat may not play a major role in SA where PPP has got the majority and but means a lot for PTI. Now PPP has to face a real opposition, whose supporters are in million, in Karachi. He is the representative of second largest party in Karachi. I wish him best of luck
NA.250, and the one where Naz balouch was contesting would've been ours, had rigging not take place. Great effort by PTI. Atleast they got their roots in Karachi.
@Stranger: How blind one can get, these are not sympathy votes, or he would have been PM this time.
that MPA would feel so loney in SA. Hope two more MPA candidates join frm NA 250 ;)
Happy that PTI won atleast one seat in Sindh ssembly. inroads have been made despite a certain party's absolute on this city. First dent has been made. InshaAllah next time
Think this is the same seat won by ANP in 2008...so no big surprises after what we saw in KPK. This was not a MQM seat!
It is good that PTI secured one seat from Karachi. If its leadership had agreed on seat adjustment with ten party coalition, Sindh results would have been significantly changed.
@waseem sarwar: Agree with Waseem, i think PTI would have won the Elections if there were free & fair elections. ECP has not stood on their words No Army have seen at any pooling stations in Sindh & Punjab. Re-election on NA-250 & 248 must be under army observations.
Thumbs Up!!!
In Azizabad, PTI’s Muhammad Jawed Jeelani secured 20,259. This shows that elections in Karachi were not rigged because even in MQM Strongest-hold PTI fellows were freely allowed to vote.
Shameful for Jamat i Islami.
First of many to come...
I think he was not loosing so badly in Punjab.
IK and Nawaz ignored Sindh all together during election campaign and gave the feeling that all they care about is Panjab. If IK had addressed some rallies in Sindh, the results might have been different.
@Stranger!! He won from Mianwali in 2002!! Check your facts
even tough that's a single seat, but it means a lot for us. I wonder how many seats PTI would have won from Sindh and Lahore if there were free and fair elections.
Thanks to the fall ' accidental or not ' IK got the first seats of his life. I wont be surprised if he becomes the PM of Pak nxt time.
Well done team PTI
