Weapons, including four hand grenades and several bullets were seized from Ameer's custody.
According to police officials, the TTP Karachi head has served jail time in connection with a murder case previously.

This is an opportunity for the new government to show they mean business. Give immediate exemplary punishment as a deterrence factor. It should start making a difference. You need to show terrorists have no place in the new Pakistan. They may have been patronized by certain groups previously but the peoples verdict is that these barbarians should die.for their murders............not the untold targeted innocents.
@Modi Baitullah Mehsood is long time dead, its Hakeem ullah Mehsood who is leading them now.
PML-N's support and sympathy for talibans is not a hidden secret. However, now that NS is in power, they may start to think differently. I have a feeling that PML-N will wait for an opportunity to prove that talibans cannot be trusted on talks and then they shall pound on them.
@Stranger - reading your comment i was increasingly excited as my inner sarcasm was finally relating to something...along with your lines of "....why not invite them (all) for 'talks'...." like...yeah..tell them to gather around that small shiny object and then pull..!
Problems solved.
We congratulate the Pakistani forces on capturing this terrorist. It is quite possible that they might have saved many lives in the process by arresting this terrorist. The surge in violence during the elections proves that these terrorists carry an evil agenda against the nation. They are trying everything in their power to prevent peace from prevailing. And at the same time, they are working against our efforts to counter extremism. We encourage the Pakistani authorities to stay vigilante against those who threaten the safety of its people. We hope to remain unified against those who are working against our peace efforts. We hope to build on our improving relationship and continue our partnership against our common enemies.

@ET I read the same news few weeks back on ET that TTP Karachi head was arrested.. Then, who is this man? The New TTP Karachi head or the same one?? Please clarify
Whats the point in arresting him. Scores will come in his place. IF you wish to live in water then make friends with the croc. OK its not a good similie but since we know that the T's presence is so much in that area of the subcontinent , why not invite them for 'talks'. At least we wont have the surprise element about them. No need to 'hound' them or 'hunt' them . We will know where they are and what they are up to.
better be true...... please im desperate for this madness to end
@Modi: Don't be too optimistic. This guy already served time in jail and then released to head TTP.
Lets not even bother arresting this monster , lets just hand him over to the relatives of the victims of these horrific crimes. Let them do what they will.
lets hope the same fate for Baitullah Mehsud.. curse you TTP!!!
Another fake news by ET...
Why arrest him now? Isn't we selected Government which will have dialogue with them & will release them?
