Four dead, 40 wounded in Quetta suicide blast

Suicide bomber targets IG Balochistan Mushtaq Sukhera; multiple rockets also fired.

A suicide bomber targeting IG Balochistan Mushtaq Sukhera killed at least four people and wounded 40 others in Quetta on Sunday evening, Express News reported.

19 policemen were reported to have been injured in the blast.

Sukhera was on his way home when a suicide bomber crashed into his convoy. The IG was not hurt in the blast.

CCPO Quetta Zubair Mehmood said 400 to 500 kilogrammes of explosives and chemicals were used in the explosion.

Soon after the blast, multiple rockets were also fired in the city, followed by heavy aerial firing.

One of the rockets landed outside the Quetta Press Club, where a Balochistan National Party rally was being held.

The force of the explosions shattered windows of many buildings.

After the rocket attacks, many areas of the city were left without electricity.
