While talking to media persons here at Kutchery chowk, Shah Mehmood Qureshi invited independent candidates to join PTI.
He claimed that PTI had emerged as the second biggest political party in the country.
About his defeat in native constituency NA-148, Qureshi observed that he had not participated in by-polls which weakened his position in the constituency.
Qureshi also congratulated Jamshed Ahmed Khan Dasti on his victory from NA-178.

Plz accept the results, even if those are not of your choice, this democracy. PML-N congrats. Pakistan is not only of literate but also of laborers and other people, hence, respect their Mandate. Plz one thing more don't mud sling others who have not voted for Imran Khan.
This man couldn't win from any of the #4 seats he contested in, why is talking.?. No one likes you, get over it and go to sleep.!!
@ Jia.... Well said ..... Education is far more important than metro bus.... Because poor people will use metro bus only for travelling from one place to another and education will change the future of their children which politician don`t give a damn,,,,
@now or never.... Proud of you for what you did and yes you are right Pakthunkhwa done tremendous job they always voted on the basis of performance.... 1993 PPP 1997 PML N 2002 MMA 2008 ANP 2013 PTI....
I am also disappointed and diss hearted but don't give up listen IK video message after the election you will see tears in his eyes but still happy and thanked all those people junooni PTI supporters just like you and me and those who came from overseas for a vote....
@ Shami.... I don't know they have a good governance system in Punjab or not.... but PML N thinking is limited in Punjab or should i say in central punjab and north punjab..... i really want to see the promises PML N made in their campaign like in Multan Main nawaz said they will start bullet train .... I think its a farce..... but lets c....
@Shaami: vow...I also live in punjab, but what I see is different.... we have lawlessness, poor health facilities, pathetic schools, extreme crimes against women, oppressed minorities, joblessness, corruption, patwari culture, policegardi, land grabbing mafia and blind policies.....we should think beyond a few roads and bridges in one city.....its is a province of 8-10 crore people.... only those are happy who have "benefits"
Just came back from Lahore after voting for PTI,I echo the sentiments of despair, anguish and utter sadness but remains hopeful. We the expats will continue to support IK and PTI. Someone reminded me of the saying "that it is not possible to fool all the people all the time" Congratulations ! Pakistanis just proved that wrong, it is a record.Shahbaz Sharif can take credit for that and use it as a slogan for the next election. Our people just don't get it, someone said in the plane that he built Metro and will built Bullet train. Perhaps not realizing these are not the trophies to show when you are seeking national mandate specially when larger population does not have access to clean water, health ,education. Perhaps forgot that is the responsibility of local government system, something that does not our traditional parties. So, here we go again yet another repeat experiment, wishing to have a different result. PTi was offering this nation something that they never had! , a new vision, a reformist package, yet they decided to give it a pass enlarge, so I say, go my brethren knock yourself out! Soon Punjab and rest of the country will realize what KPK just did, they just voted to change their destiny! Well done brethren ? On another note, didn't get it, NA 125 Lahore , Mr saad Rafique was washed out in Defence as witnessed myself, how did he end up winning? May be with all his magic Wand! But difference does it make, as a nation just made yet another blunder.I wish I am wrong, time will tell! Hopeful for KPK , not so for the rest of Pakistan.
I am sad! but I will say bye bye Pakistan
As much as I'm glad for the PTI for having made it this far in their first 'real' election (being the second-largest party in the country, with your own provincial government, is an achievement whichever way you look at it), openly declaring not to cooperate with someone who's won with as massive a margin as PML-N - whether fairly or not - is practically speaking political suicide, no one wins that way. I hope IK plays smarter and wiser than SMQ.
@Shaami: Yes you are right I have to accept people's mandate. But I really wanted some accountability...do you really think all the money Zardari and Nawaz and his family allegedly have stashed overseas will ever come back now?
@Now or Never: People of Punjab are generally satisfied with the performance of PMLN so there is nothing wrong if they elected PMLN again. Punjab really saw infrastructure development in the last 5 years . PMLN is not as bad as some people transformed it to be,.
@IsThatSo: Thank you for your reply. I am not sure that's correct; in the past KPK has voted for PPP and PMLN; my assessment is they are less inclined to "biradari" or "bhutto ka vote" type voting.
SM Qureshi is a baggage to PTI... What`s his contribution? He destroyed himself and the PTI...
I have not as yet lost hope.
I am with Pakistan, as I am born to die for Pakistan.
I am not the one who will run away from the country.
I know how to take challenges, face them and expedite them in the interest of Pakistan and for the common benefit of an ordinary Pakistani.
KPK showed real resilience following the ideology whereas Punjab stayed close to its roots being lotas rigging elections even if it destroys the country. Congratulations KPK!!!
@Now or Never: KPK, being a Pashtun area , voted for a Pashtun like Imran Khan. So they voted along ethnic lines. How can that be categorized as "voting for Pakistan above religion, ethnic and tribal interests"? Anyways....Congratulations on a good performance.
Sorry Imran Khan, we Paki
s dont deserve you. we
ll only vote for the corrupt, because they give us food on the voting day... we care only for the free food for 1 day and not about a good life for the whole of 5 years.. Ashamed of being a Paki today... very disappointed.. depressed..Shame on you Punjab/Sindh...
bro u did a great job, know that there is no such thing as enough ,jitni bhi seats milein u gotta b satisfied .great job in coming to pakistan for voting.. next govt is ours make sure ur here for the big news next tym
Left Pakistan after voting...feel deflated and frustrated...I think the folks who voted for Nawaz definitely deserve him.
KPK thank you for voting for Pakistan above religious, ethnic and tribal interests. Lets make this the best governed, most forward looking and progressive place in the country so it can be a shining example for the rest of Pakistan....
Imran whatever else, you inspired me to leave everything and come to vote....well done...we know you are an honest and patriotic Pakistani...WELL DONE we are proud of you...
Lets now come together as a nation, and work together for Pakistan.
