Contesting from NA-199 Sukkur cum Shikarpur-II, the former federal minister for religious affairs secured a whopping 72,584 votes.
His opponent of the Pakistan Muslim League-Functional (PML-F) Faqeer Inayat could only muster 27,252 votes.
