Unexpectedly high voter turnout across the region has brought a dramatic shift in the political power structure of Islamabad and Rawalpindi.

Predictions that the youth would fail to show up at polling stations turned out to be unfounded, as first-time voters thronged polling stations across the region. Violence and fear did not stop them, as the determination and sense of urgency in the next generation of Pakistanis to change the fate of their nation resulted in a fresh crop, and just maybe, a brighter future.
