Polling suspended in 46 polling stations in Khyber Agency

Two activists of various political parties were injured in scuffle among the supporters.

JAMRUD: Two activists of various political parties were injured in scuffle among the supporters of the election candidates in Shahkas area Khyber Agency on the polling day.

According to details, 46 polling stations were set up for the internally displaced persons living in adjacent Bara and Peshawar areas in the area while for the rest of the uprooted six polling stations were set up in Jalozai camp Nowsehra.

The clash broke out around 12 noon among the workers over reported allegations on each other that led to clashes. As a result, polling was stopped in all polling stations.

As a result two activists were badly injured who were rushed to Lady Reading Hospital.

The polling remained stopped for brief period after the security forces intervened and settled the issue.

Around 22 candidates are contesting election from the agency. Later, the presiding officers restarted polling.
