Welcome to the The Express Tribune's live coverage of the 2013 general elections!

More than 86 million registered voters will exercise their power through the ballot at 70,000 polling stations across Pakistan.

This is the 10th time in the country's history that elections are being held, and the first time that a civilian government has completed a full term.

A total of 15,621 candidates are contesting for 268 general seats in the National Assembly and 570 provincial assembly seats. Elections were postponed on three National Assembly and six provincial assembly seats due to the death's of candidates.

Out of 250 registered political parties, only 148 were allotted symbols, and not all of them have fielded candidates.

Will you be voting today?

We hope to see a healthy voter turnout today!

Stay safe, Pakistan!
