LAHORE: A full bench of the Lahore High Court on Wednesday referred to the Election Commission a petition seeking the cancellation of the All Pakistan Muslim League’s (APML) registration. The bench was hearing a petition referred to it by a single bench. The petitioner, Advocate Afaq Ahmad, submitted that since former president and army chief Pervez Musharraf had been disqualified from the general elections on the grounds that he did not meet the requirements set in Articles 62 and 63, his party’s registration should be cancelled. A person deemed unworthy of running for parliament could not form or lead a political party, he said.
