Budget talks: Proposals for annual budget 2013-14 being prepared

Preparations for the Annual Budget 2013-14 are taking place under a formal schedule, and different working papers and strategies are under progress to prepare and finalise the upcoming federal budget proposals in the country, said Asif Shaikh, a senior official in Planning Commission on Thursday.


He said the final date for the meeting held by the Annual Plan Coordination Committee (APCC) is yet to be decided.

The meeting would be held to give final shape to the federal budget for the year 2013-14 and also propose programmes under the Public Sector development Programme (PSDP).

He said that the APCC would propose GDP growth targets for the upcoming financial year 2013-2014. All federal secretaries of the Ministries and Divisions, representatives of all four provinces, Azad Jammu and Kashmir and Gilgit Baltistan will participate in the meeting to submit their proposals.

Increase the funding to the armed forces, that should fix everything.
