The election date for those voting abroad will be different from the one in Pakistan.
According to the ordinance, the Election Commission of Pakistan (ECP) is ordered to establish polling stations inside the premises of the embassies, mission or consulate at least 14 days prior to the polling date, spokesperson to the President Senator Farhatullah Babar said while giving details of the ordinance.
The Ministry of Foreign Affairs will have to obtain consent from the host countries before establishing polling stations.
Overseas Pakistanis will be asked to register as an elector in the embassy, mission or consulate where he intends to cast his vote, not later than ten days before the day fixed for poll abroad, the ordinance said.
To ensure free and fair polls, the ECP would appoint as many independent monitors as necessary at a polling station abroad, the ordinance further said.
The Spokesperson said that the Ordinance has come into force, but will take effect on the date or dates notified by the ECP in the official gazette.

Another joke from the ECP!
@R.A
The election date for those voting abroad will be different from the one in Pakistan
It means election on foreign missions will be held prior to that in local constituencies. The ballot papers will be brought back to Pakistan before the end of election day, so that those votes could also be included in final tally. Hope it clarifies.
ECP, A new joke to Humiliate Pakistan overseas. What types of people are currently running Pakistan, who finds ways to humiliate Pakistan and Pakistani's all the time? What kind of patriotism is this to humiliate own country.
I have never heard in my life that the voting date for Overseas Pakistani will be different from the date of polling scheduled to be held in Pakistan.
This means that whatever the results would be, either the ECP should hold the initial results until and unless the Overseas Pakistanis vote, or if the results are declared of polling in Pskistan then ECP has to announce a final result later on after counting the votes of Overseas Pakistan.
I don't understand as what kind of nonsense is going on in Pakistan?
Entirely incomprehensible...yeah but a good joke! ECP could have enabled us to cast our vote and save it from rigging back home, only had it been serious and willing!
@R.A.: I am afraid its too late due to incompetency of the Election commission..I have now heard that the law will be implemented from next election....
Oh Bhaiyoon, this is for next elections.
Seriously ???!! ...and they say that
how are they going to add foreign voters' votes ?/... guess by then the govt would have already been formed ... how exactly are they going to do this ??.. is this a joke for them ??
So basically will the decision be withheld till our votes are counted?
Are they serious? I hope there are time machines that will transport the ballot boxes in time. ECP you have disappointed me. Thanks for crushing my hopes and my ability to vote as an overseas Pakistani.
I am expecting the CJ to take sou moto and make this null and void..and issue contempt notice to the president.....
so we can't really vote?
so we CAN vote but theres no way TO vote. Gotta love this guy...... a true politicians response to an issue.......
Why couldnt they have done this 4-5 months back. They think we are fools !!
